Kean student Marcus Scroggins, of Edison, was killed in a car crash on April 5. He will receive a posthumous degree at this year’s graduation ceremony.

Kayla-Simone McKelvey, a Kean graduate accused of making threats against the black community using Twitter, pleaded guilty to a third-degree charge of creating a false public alarm. She will be sentenced on June 17.

A Tower investigative team canvassed several buildings on campus and found that several bathrooms had non-locking stalls and faulty soap dispensers and faucets.

News12 Meteorologist and Kean alum Michael Favetta and Lisa Lisa Mateo, co-anchor for the PIX 11 Morning News, moderated a panel discussion about climate change and sustainability at Kean University. The event, titled “ArtSCAPES – Art in Science, Climate, Change and Adaption: Picturing Environments and Sustainability,” explored environmental issues through art.
