Tech-savvy students will come together in the North Avenue Academic Building tomorrow to build apps and hardware for a 24-hour hackathon.
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a funded group at Kean, will host the third annual event known as HackKean. The event kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will end Sunday at noon.
“For 24 hours, students come together and get involved in learning, planning, and developing projects–ranging from web applications to hardware hacks–with the ultimate goal of fostering growth and productivity among people who want to code,” said ACM Vice President Jonathan Rodriguez.
Students from colleges and high schools will have the opportunity to get involved in the coding community. Free food, workshops, games and more will be provided as well.
Students can work in teams of up to four or go solo to develop the best tech idea. Participants can create software, hardware, design, music, art or animation. Prizes will be given for top projects too.
Registration to participate in the event is now closed, but about 125 attendees are expected this year. For more information, visit HackKean.org.
