Cage The Elephant have teamed up with Oxford, U.K. based band Foals for a North American joint tour with 12 dates starting May 2. Two of those dates will be in New York’s Terminal 5.

The two bands initially announced just one day for Terminal 5, which is May 6, but after it sold it quickly, they added a second show by popular demand. It will be Foals’ second consecutive year playing on May at Terminal 5. They’ve played Terminal 5 last year on May 3 in support of their current album “Holy Fire.” Cage the Elephant last played at the venue in 2011, but are back in support of their new album “Melophobia”

The two bands are good friends and are both known to put on an incredible and interactive live show. Both leading men, Matt Shultz of Cage the Elephant and Yannis Philippakis of Foals, are both known for diving into the crowd from the stage and getting up close and personal with the audience. It was no wonder why tri-state area fans were so demanding for a second show.

“I was so upset to see the show sell out within hours,” says Erika Linares, a fan of Cage the Elephant and Kean student, “when they announced a second show I was so happy I didn’t have to wait until their next tour to see them.”

Even though the May 6 show is sold out, there are still tickets available for the second date. The Bowery Presents, the venue management organization that operates Terminal 5, has teamed up with Jamplify to allow fans to win tickets for the May 7 show.

Jamplify is a website which allows fans to become the promoters in exchange for prizes. On their website, Jamplify says it was created in 2012 “with the belief that fans are powerful marketers.” Fans become promoters through the website where they could share a link to their friends via social networking website such as Facebook and Twitter.

Promoting the Cage The Elephant and Foals co-headlining show has a number of prizes fans could win. The main prize, which requires up to eight ticket sales, gets a VIP upgrade of their ticket for the show. If someone gets four ticket sales, they receive the skip-the-line access, which eliminates queuing and lets them get into the venue first. The top promoter gets two free tickets to any future Terminal 5 show and the second top promoter gets one.

Along with this promotion, the band Foals is holding a contest of their own. The “Photo Pass Contest” Foals are running, is a contest to let one lucky fan be the official fan photographer for the Foals & Cage The Elephant North American tour. The photos taken by the fan photographer will be uploaded onto both bands official websites and the bands’ social networks.

The fan has a choice of choosing the show they will be attending. Along with the photographer pass for a show, they will also get two tickets to the show of their choice.

The official rules are on Foals website. If both contests don’t interest you or you prefer not to participate, tickets are still on sale at www.Terminal5NYC.com.
