Kean University granted accreditation for the next 10 years

Kean University received great news today when Middle States announced that they have granted accreditation for the next 10 years as Kean met all 14 standards that comprise the academic accrediting agency’s “Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education,” according to a statement on the school’s website.

“This is welcome and wonderful news for our students, their parents and guardians, alumni, benefactors, faculty and staff,” said President Dawood Farahi. “This has been a long and thorough process. Kean University has emerged from it as a stronger institution, more determined than ever to deliver a world-class education to our students.”

The university was previously on probation for failing to meet four of the accreditation agency’s 14 standards. The four standards were: Standard 6, Academic Integrity, Standard 7, Institutional Assessment, Standard 12, General Education and Standard 14, Assessment of Student Learning.
