Kean volleyball splits Saturday double-header

Coming off a loss in five sets against Rutgers-Newark, the Kean men’s
volleyball team lost its first game against No. 1 Springfield in straight sets 25-13, 25-
18, 25-11 in the first of two games. The Cougars won the second game against Cairn
University 25-22, 25-19, 26-24.

Senior Steve Vahalla led the team in kills in both games with 12 against Springfield
and 16 against Cairn. Setter Ron Dunn tallied 58 assists, 13 digs and six blocks in
both games.

The Cougars, who were picked as the top team in the Skyline Conference this
season, play New Jersey Institute of Technology Tuesday night in the team’s first
game at home of the 2013 season.
