Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity celebrates Founders week

On Tuesday, Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity (LSU) celebrated Founders week by hosting a ‘Too Hype Karaoke Night’ in the Miron Student Center.
The celebration of Founders Week was to honor the men that founded the fraternity such as Jorge Ball and Felix Cabral.
Although a few students attended the event, the purpose of this event was to bring students together for a fun night. The students took advantage of the time and space they had to freely move around and have a good time while taking part in Karaoke songs.
Students were seen dancing to throwback songs such as Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together,” and dancing to the infamous “Cha-Cha Slide”.
“Students are stressed at this time during the semester so we just wanted a fun night for students to come out and enjoy themselves.” said Nina Townsend, a junior majoring in Elementary Education.
Additionally, LSU has hosted prior events this past week such as Emperor’s Bowl and Smooth Lovin’ Mondays as part of their celebration week.
“This past week has been Founders Week and in order to celebrate, the organization held a series of events for the student body to familiarize itself with the Fraternity, as well as spend a week amongst friendly people and vibing.” said Townsend.
Students can look forward to LSU’s Founders Week again next spring as they will be continuing events such as Too Hype Karaoke Night, Emperor’s Bowl and Smooth Lovin’ Mondays.
