Men’s Volleyball heading to NCAA Tournament

Kean University men’s volleyball continued its historic prowess Saturday as the
team won its second Skyline Conference Championship against The Sage Colleges at
Harwood Arena.

Junior Ed Jedzniak led the Cougars in the championship game with 14 kills en route
to a 3-1 victory.

Senior Steve Vahalla was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament as he
totaled 13 kills and 11 digs.

In the game against The Sage Colleges, the game was tied six times in the first set
before the Cougars pulled it out 26-24. Then in the second, the Gators got the best of
Kean.

It wasn’t until the third and fourth sets where the Cougars took complete advantage
winning 25-22 and 25-12.

Kean won the first game of the Skyline Conference tournament against New Jersey
City 3-0.

With the win the Cougars receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III
Tournament. The NCAA bracket will unveiled Sunday evening at 8:30 P.M.
