New Membership Presentation for Mu Sigma Upsilon, Inc.

Massive balloons in the colors of blue and silver listed in “1, 2, 3, and 5,” blue barrets anywhere the eye could see, and white jackets with letters for Mu Sigma Upsilon, Inc.

It was a sea of sky blue and white pride as four sisters crossed over and began their journey with MSU.

Thursday, March 29, was a memorable day for four upcoming sisters. Family and friends gathered and watched as four sophisticated ladies entered the the diverse community of the Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc.

From greeting visiting sororities and fraternities, to introducing themselves and sharing their stories of triumph, diversity, strength, and sophistication was celebrated.

“They made me feel at home. Every time I came to one of the events, or talked to my sisters, it was just easy conversation,” said Ariela Nunez, number two of the line. “It’s an amazing organization honestly.”

Among family and friends was a fraternity called Lambda Sigma Upsilon- Latino Fraternity, Inc. Otherwise known as the “brothers” of the sophisticated ladies of Mu Sigma Upsilon, Inc. They too attended to show support for their sisters.

In 1981, the founding mothers of MSU recognized the importance of diversity- be it race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, etc. Thus, MSU was born. Instilling pride in multiculturalism, and spreading the importance of diversity, is the basic principle of this organization.

“I feel wonderful, I’m so proud of them,” said Giselle, of the line administration for the sorority. “I think they did an amazing job and I’m really excited to see what they bring to campus.”
