The Walking Dead: Returns for more tantalizing zombie mayhem

The mid-season premiere of “The Walking Dead” returned to AMC on Feb. 9 with the episode ‘Aftermath,’ that gave it’s audiences a glimpse of Michonne’s past and at Rick and Carl’s relationship.

The mid-season finale of “The Walking Dead” left its fans with anticipation with the Governors death. In “Aftermath” audiences were left without any knowledge of everyone else’s whereabouts other than Rick, Carl, and Michonne.

Adre Brown, sophomore, history education major is beyond glad the Governor is dead.

“I couldn’t wait for that man to die that was one of the most evil villains that I’ve ever seen in a show,” said Brown. “He needed to go but that was a good villain.”

Throughout the episode Carl and Rick bicker and we see Carl’s teenage angst along with a lot of emotional baggage.

“Their relationship is pretty much deteriorating; there’s thin line. Rick still loves his son but Carl’s just loosing trust in his dad,” said Brown. “He’s blaming his father for everything but it’s not his fault; Carl’s a bitch.”

Student Jacqueline Twaddle, senior, English Major and a psychology minor, enjoyed Michonnes’ scenes that involved zombie slaying and the emotional vulnerability shown.

“Sadly, I’m a sucker for a lead female role,” said Twaddle. “I feel like the scene with Michonne just killing off a whole hoard of zombies alone; we see how she had this bottled up emotion.”
Predictions for the rest of season four range from the favorite charters being killed off to more drama.

“We saw that in next week’s episode the bus that Glenn and Maggie were on was flipped over, so I’m hoping they’re just hurt,” said Twaddle. “I feel as though people may have died on the bus, so I expect to see an epic zombie battle.”

Season four episode 10 ‘Inmates’ airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
