Tower trivia: What do students know about their campus?

Video produced by David Long | Published Sept. 27, 2016

The Tower quizzed students on Kean facts: Who is the university named after and what is the name of our university president?

The university is named after the Kean family, which includes John Kean — who served as a member of the Second Continental Congress from 1785 to 1787 — and the 48th Governor of New Jersey, Tom Kean, Sr.

Members of the Kean family also lived in Liberty Hall near East Campus. Today, the home has been turned into a museum.

The university president’s name is Dawood Farahi. He’s served in this role since 2003.
