Kean University women’s lacrosse had a bounce back season in 2013 after finishing the 2012 season with its second consecutive 9-9 season. The women’s lacrosse team won a Skyline Conference playoff game and finished this season with a 13-6 record and a 7-3 record in the Skyline Conference. Those who helped the Cougars get to this point were rewarded by the Skyline Conference Wednesday.

Seniors Lyndsey Cannon and Stephanie Tocko were named to the first team. Cannon recorded 61 goals, 33 assists and 79 ground balls. Tocko completed her upstart season with 44 goals, 20 assists and 28 ground balls.

Cannon was also named Skyline Player of the Week four times this season. She also broke a few Cougars’ all-time records. She smashed ground balls record with 242, eclipsing the record set by Jen LaBelle in 1999 and broke the draw controls record with 267 breaking Chelsea Davis’ record of 208. Finally, Cannon set the program’s all-time goals record with 278 goals breaking the record set by Amanda South in 2011.

Teammates Kelly Bachovchin and Jules Keeley, both seniors as well, were named to the second team. Bachovchin had 11 goals, an assist and 23 ground balls. Goalkeeper Keeley finished with 156 saves on the season and a save percentage of 50 percent.
