Kean University will be closed tomorrow for Election Day, so will you be using the day off to catch some Z’s or vote?

Maybe you haven’t heard about the elections because your Twitter and Facebook feeds have been filled with cute cat videos. And hey, Justin Bieber and Adele just dropped new singles that you’ve probably been listening to on repeat each night as you cry yourself to sleep.

But in case you haven’t heard, tomorrow’s elections will decide who wins seats for State Assembly. In Union County, residents will be voting for a new county clerk, freeholders and school board members. Some towns throughout the state will be voting for a new mayor and council members too.

Though it may seem less glamorous than a presidential or gubernatorial election, the officials that are up for a vote tomorrow will most likely be deciding things like which potholes get fixed in your town.

Hopefully, you’re already registered to vote. If not, you can do so online. (You need to register to vote 21 days prior to the election. So sorry, latecomers.)

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. You can find the nearest polling station with this helpful tool from the state.
