Kean Presents Women in Medicine – A Glance at Linda Regan

Kean University and Linda Regan on behalf of the American Medical Women’s Association hosted Women in Medicine, an event on March 25 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

“It has been quite hard,” said Emergency physician Linda Regan. “The unknown of what will come next, when will it end, or will it end?”

The medical field has always been a top career that is high on the priority list. Since the pandemic, women in the medical field are essential workers that have worked tirelessly to keep society in good health.

“Emergency Medicine is about 1/3 women, so I am interested in having us be better represented,” said Regan.

She is an Associate Professor in rank. She holds many titles such as  Program Director Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine-Anesthesiology Residency, Vice Chair for Education, and Medical Education Fellowship Director. Regan graduated from Fordham University in Bronx, New York.

“Clearly, women doctors are passionate about helping inspire women to go into medicine!” said Regan

Regan is passionate about helping young women find their place in the medical field. She partaken in the Women in Medicine event to help college women decide which path is the best for them.

“Find something that you love to do so that your “job” isn’t work but something that you enjoy and find fulfillment from,” said Regan.

She advises women who are unsure about what medical field they would want to pursue is to ask others about what their job entails.

Regan loves to teach and finds passion in being able to do both her job and mentoring.

“It is something different every day!,” said Regan. “No two days are the same.”
